Focused on the Magic Contributor: Diane Maguire - Can Do IT Mom is here today to share her thoughts on KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX. Santa skipped over our house when he was delivering the PlayStation3 game system so we asked our good friend Diane to offer up this review for us. Thankfully she agreed. Diane received this free video game in exchange for this post. All opinions are her own. Your experience may differ.
There are lots of dream sequences at the beginning; it’s an
introduction to the characters. It’s a little strange and hard to follow. The
characters are Roxas and his friends. Roxas has a key sword with a Mickey in
it.
The game has a lot of flashbacks to the previous Kingdom
Hearts and we see a lot of Disney Characters in those flashbacks like, Donald
Duck, Goofy, Aladdin, Beast, Tigger, Pooh, Hercules, Phil, Pluto, and
Pinocchio. The graphics are very Anime.
You need to perform tasks to make money and move forward to
see who Roxas really is and he has no memory. I was intrigued to see why he
doesn’t remember who he is but it was a struggle to understand why. The game is not clear on why and how you are
doing the challenges. There are a lot of battles between Roxas and other
characters to get money.
As the game goes on and the challenges are completed it was
nice to finally be making progress in the game. Trying to figure out the
mystery of who Roxas is and characters from his past keep showing up to leaving
clues. This game is a true mystery, so far.
Not sure this game is for young children even with the
Disney characters in it. There is
nothing objectionable, the violence is mild and there is no blood. The reason this game may not be suitable for
those under I’d say 11 or 12 is that the storyline and plot is very
convoluted. As Roxas completes each
challenge he moves a bit closer to being restored. To what we’re not sure though my family is
fairly certain Roxas is actually Sora the hero of the first Kingdom Hearts
game.
The progress of Roxas and his friends is monitored by a mysterious man in front of a computer somewhere. Some of the mini games are really fun such as the mail delivery, poster hanging and junk clearing games. The tournament style “Struggle” game was great. Interspersed with all of this are periods where Roxas seems to faint and we see flashbacks to the original Kingdom Hearts.
