Our thoughts:
We already own a very worn Mary Poppins VHS, but haven't watched it in years. I almost feel like Mary Poppins is a part of our family, we've seen her so many times. I wish she were my kids nanny, those early years would have been even more magical. It was such a wonderful experience to see this digitally restored and enhanced version on a big screen TV. We could really tell the differences in picture quality and sound quality. We loved hearing our favorite songs again and taking a trip down memory lane with our favorite characters. The park scene and rooftop scene are my absolute favorites and they were made even better digitally enhanced. The colors seemed to jump off the screen with the penguins.
This 50th anniversary edition has lots of new extras that we enjoyed as well as the timeless film. The new Mary-Oke sing along was fun with everyone trying to remember the words without reading them on the screen. The bonus feature commentary is very entertaining as well as the trivia. This movie is a Disney classic that is definitely worth purchasing and a practically perfect edition for your Disney movie collection.
