It's time for Flashback Friday! Time to focus on our favorite Disney memories from the past. This week we discovered (unearthed) more old photos and ephemera from Walt Disney World circa 1991. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were all the rage at MGM's backlot.
The pizza-eating Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello and Rafael would arrive in their Turtle Party Wagon with their news reporter friend April O'Neil.
Kids oozing with enthusiasm to meet their "heroes in a half shell" first watched a live stage show full of karate moves and gymnastics and then were treated to a meet and greet by each of the TMNT. Very heady stuff for the kids
as they really were the super heroes of the time.
I love the TMNT, they were so awesome. Your little guy look so cute with them..
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a flashback! Yep, my son was a fan for sure when we saw them at WDW. Cute picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, he was so happy to see the "real" TMNT.
ReplyDeleteThe backlot was TMNT fan heaven in those days:) Great times!
ReplyDeleteIt sure was funny to see my husband get to animated over TMNT when he found all his old action figures at his Mom's house several years ago. He still knew them all by name LOL. New follower from the Tiggerific Tuesday hop (yes I know it's already Friday, LOL)
ReplyDeleteGreat flashback today! I had no idea those guys were even there. Man my sister and I would have been in heaven!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for following! I still hopping from Tuesday too;P
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! They were in MGM till about 1995. What a show and the queues weren't that long for autographs. April O'Neil was wandering around greeting guests signing autographs and posing for pics.
ReplyDeleteYES! YES I DO! I was 12 when I met them and got their autographs back in 1992!!! They Rule!:) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMan - I wish we had done MGM in '91! Funny that my flashback was from '91, too. But yeah, I totally grew up with TMNT - loved the movies and had action figures and all that stuff! Great pics :)
