Recently I received the Defined Strength Crossfit Jump Rope for review and submission in our Holiday Guide. I have included Amazon Affiliate links below. Clicking and buying on those links helps keep this blog going but does not affect the price you would pay.
You can see the jump rope in the Unique Gift Guide, HERE and the Holiday Gift Guide for Men, HERE. I couldn't wait to give it a try myself and also have my sons try it out.
I love a varied workout and kind of have to push myself to do it more often. One thing I really enjoy adding to my workout is jumping rope. It burns calories and builds endurance which at my age is greatly appreciated. Besides it's fun.
Thankfully my sons take their workouts a lot more seriously than I do. My oldest jumps rope in his cross training and boxing routine. So we were anxious to try out the Defined Strength Crossfit Jump Rope.
About:
The CROSSFIT Jump Rope by Defined Strength is a fast, high quality speed cable rope. It has metal ball bearings in the handles. With Metal Ball Bearings in Handles - FREE 100% Lifetime Money Back Guarantee, Best for Crossfit Workouts, Double Unders, Weight Loss, MMA, Boxing, Exercise and Fitness TrainingAthletes, Boxers, Crossfitters, tennis players, skiers & gym goers use jump ropes for a reason. It's great for your overall health and fitness. It's an effective way to build up your stamina, increase your foot speed & coordination. Oh and an added bonus is strong good looking calf muscles. That's a win!
My thoughts:
It took a little while for Peter to get the technique down. He didn't want to keep his arms close to his body at first. Learning disabilities keep him from picking things quickly but he stuck with it and before we knew it he was jumping like a boxer. Anyone with Sensory Integration Disfunction would really benefit from adding jumping rope to their workout routine. It's fun and filled with deep sensory stimulation.
The Crossfit jump rope was easy to adjust with a Philips head screwdriver for shortening. I like the way it easy and smoothly rotates with little hand movement. The grips are a molded plastic that is very comfortable. I like to do 5 minutes of jumping and then cool down with skipping rope. I know that's not a lot but it is just right for me.
Have you tried unders? Here's a helpful video showing you how to master Double Unders. by John Alvino.
