Ever wonder if the Morse code message being sent in Epcot's Spaceship Earth is a real message? Recently, I found out the answer to that question and more while playing around with Lou Mongello's WDW Disney World Trivia
The Morse code message received in the telegraph office is a real message. It announces the driving of the golden spike at Promontory Park in 1869, the event that linked the transcontinental railroad.
Another neat bit of trivia I learned from the same app is that in Spaceship Earth, the steam press in the 20th century scene is an exact replica of one developed by William Bullock in 1863!
